It would help if you chose a licensed and experienced company with an excellent reputation to stand behind their inspection. There are important questions to ask in addition to the price. Do they go on the roof? How long will the assessment take? Do they go in the crawlspace? Where can I see your reviews? Be wary of inspectors who are much cheaper than others. You get what you pay for when it comes to home inspections. Since buying a home may be the most significant investment, you want a qualified, experienced inspector to guide you through the process – not a rookie willing to offer cheap inspections to gain business.
Jim (the owner) began his career in home inspection in 2002 and started Top Notch Home Inspection in 2007. He has grown the business organically through word of mouth. The company now has multiple inspectors, with thousands of inspections under our belt.
We service all of northern and central New Jersey.
Our inspectors will look at all aspects of the house, including the exterior, interior, structure, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
The cost varies based on the size, the age, and the particulars of the home. We offer superior service at competitive prices.
Ideally, it’s best if you attend the inspection. This way, the inspector can point out problem areas and discuss any additional concerns you may have. If you cannot be there the entire time, try to arrive towards the back half so the inspector can review their findings with you.
Reports are typically turned around within 1-2 business days. Radon takes a little longer since the testing device must sit at the house for at least 48 hours.
Payment is due on the day of the inspection. We accept cash, check, Zelle, Venmo, and credit cards.
